Date:2024-12-03 View:

On December 2, the Strategic Cooperation and Exchange Meeting between the National Research Center of Pumps at Jiangsu University and the Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Development Center was held in Zhenjiang. The event was attended by Wu Chao, Party Secretary of Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Development Center Co., Ltd.; Wu Yaqin, Chief Engineer; Yang Bo, Chief Advisor; and Zheng Honglin, General Manager of Science and Technology Management Department. Representatives from Jiangsu University included President Xing Weihong, Vice President Li Hong, Director of the Industry-Academia-Research Office Wang Shaohua, Party Secretary of the Fluid Center Zhang Desheng, along with other faculty members. The meeting was presided over by Li Hong.

Xing Weihong delivered a welcome speech on behalf of Jiangsu University, expressing her appreciation for Wu Chao and his delegation's visit to Jiangsu University and their efforts to foster comprehensive strategic cooperation. She highlighted that the Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Development Center is a leading institution in the domestic membrane-based water treatment technology sector and serves as the host organization for the National Liquid Separation Membrane Engineering Technology Research Center. Since the "11th Five-Year Plan," Jiangsu University and the Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Development Center have maintained a close cooperative relationship, jointly undertaking numerous key national R&D projects. Their collaborative research has made significant advancements in areas such as seawater desalination high-pressure pumps, high-pressure booster pumps, and energy recovery devices, with multiple achievements receiving provincial and ministerial awards. She expressed her hope to expand this collaboration into interdisciplinary fields such as chemical engineering, environmental science, and fluid dynamics.

Subsequently, Zhang Desheng provided an overview of the development, research areas, and achievements of the National Research Center of Pumps. He emphasized that the two parties have built a solid foundation over the past two decades in reverse osmosis seawater desalination high-pressure pumps and energy recovery devices. Their joint efforts have successfully completed multiple key national R&D projects, developed core equipment for reverse osmosis seawater desalination systems, and established the country's first 10,000-ton-class membrane-based seawater desalination demonstration project. Zhang expressed hope for continued collaboration on large-scale, low-energy seawater desalination projects, contributing Jiangsu University’s expertise to advancing China's seawater desalination technologies internationally.

Wu Chao introduced the "6505" development strategy, corporate mission, and potential areas of cooperation for the Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Research and Development Center. He stressed that scientific research translation, business promotion, and talent complementation are key focuses of the strategic partnership. Wu stated that this strategic cooperation agreement represents a positive “chemical reaction” combining the industrial strengths of enterprises with the innovative research capacities of universities. It marks a new chapter in comprehensive university-enterprise cooperation and provides an innovative platform to elevate technological R&D in the seawater desalination industry. He expressed his hope to deepen collaboration in high-pressure pumps, energy recovery devices, reverse osmosis membranes, and industrial wastewater treatment, advancing the corporate mission of “developing the membrane industry and ensuring water security” through concrete actions.

Zhang Desheng and Wu Yaqin signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of Jiangsu University and the Hangzhou Water Treatment Technology Development Center, respectively. In-depth discussions among participants followed.

In her concluding remarks, President Xing Weihong emphasized that this agreement marks a new starting point for comprehensive strategic cooperation. He expressed his hope for further collaboration in scientific research, talent cultivation, and technology transfer, contributing significantly to the development of new productivity in the water treatment industry.

Prior to the meeting, Wu Chao and his delegation visited the laboratory of the National Research Center of Pumps at Jiangsu University.
